A Well Deserved Rest

Shutting My Eyes

Shutting my eyes for a moment while waiting for my large files to save.

Well what a week! December is a really hectic week for a lot of companies and that is not an exception to one of my clients. Just this morning, I accompanied the Marketing Manager of one of my clients to meet up with the printers who will print my designs for them. I have to check with the proofs if they got the colors right. These people are very meticulous in their designs and makes sure the color and product images are right. It’s a bit hard work for me because of a number changes I have to do over and over again just to make it perfect. But I can’t blame them since their image here is on the line and she’s just doing her job. And fortunately we were able to finish 4 design projects this week on time for their exhibition this week in World Trade. The designs are all high resolution/ large format graphics for their booth designs and one small resolution for their resto. I just recall I also finished 2 large format designs for them last week.

Yoyong the storm wasn’t helpful enough here. He’s a real disaster in the country. As if fate was playing around and deadlines nearing, we suffered a brownout last Thursday night around 7:30pm. Some fuse exploded (short circuited) nearby. I stayed at my studio played a little guitar while waiting (which made the storm stronger I think). Hours passed and still there was no light. I fell asleep, then later I woke up from the sound of a woman screaming her lungs out from a nearby Karaoke Bar. There must be an electricity already. It was already 2:30 am and started working again.

Funny, before that, I went by my office in Jupiter Makati to give my Boss, the pictures I took at his daughter’s christening last Saturday, only to be welcomed by my co-workers who were all about to leave the office. Wasn’t able to catch my boss, so I left the CD at his table and went home. MRT was slow. Turns out the storm took down some Christmas Lanterns and was scattered along the tracks.

Well now, everything’s done I’m going to have my well deserved rest. But I have to thank, the Resto’s Marketing Manager for the free Treats: dinner last night at KFC, and Brunch earlier at Yoshinoya. Also bought a small Christmas Tree for my studio before I went home. Just to have a bit christmas spirit to it. Now where are those DVDs I borrowed…
