Rock Ed: Human Rights now!

Noel Cabangon

Noel Cabangon, kickstarts the gathering

The RockEd Gathering at the Podium. Despite the rains the Gathering Party went on but it wasn’t much crowded, probably because of the rain. Fortunately it didn’t rain throughtout the concert. And thought it was a great opportunity to try to shoot low light concerts.

  • Achieve Universal Primary Education
  • Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women
  • Reduce Child Mortality
  • Ensure Maternal Health

  • Ensure Environmental Sustainability

Juan Pablo Dream

Juan Pablo Dream, gets the groove back in rock with style

The concert gahering was nice, but not much action in the crowd. Probably washed down by the rain. Still it was a treat to see some bands perform live. Noel Cabangon has such an amazing vocals. It was a perfect start with his songs relevant to the event. Juan Pablo Dream was quite entertaining with their funky style and sound. Drip was also great. First time I see an electronica, trip-hop band do a performance. Sponge Cola was okay as well. Was a bit disappointed though that UrbanDub and The Dawn didn’t make it.

UpDharmaDown

Amazing Neo-soul rock infused sound of UpDharmaDown

There were a number of new bands there. But what really caught me was UpDharmaDown. I like their funky groove, distortions and the piano. The vocalist who plays the Piano has a very strong voice reminiscent of Alica Keys. Kala is also good with an Indio-I, Kapatid type of sound.
