Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the managing body and operator of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), participated in the 22nd World Routes Development Forum, which was held recently in Chengdu in the Sichuan Province, China.
Senior delegates from the Bahrain Airport Company, Economic Development Board and Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority attended the forum to showcase the country as the ideal aviation hub to the global aviation community and particularly targeted leading Asian airlines to add the kingdom to their new route networks. As part of the World Routes Forum, the delegation held face-to-face discussions with Airline representatives from China, the Indian Subcontinent and South East Asian regions.
“At Bahrain Airport Company, our strategy is to facilitate growth of aviation and tourism sectors. The World Routes Forum provides an unrivalled platform for route development professionals to discuss, develop, and plan route strategies,” said a BAC spokesperson and praised the opportunities afforded by the World Routes Forum. “This year, we held productive discussions with a number of potential airlines from the Philippines and we look forward to seeing Bahrain added to their expanding network as there are about 30,000 overseas Filipino workers in the country who are a potential market for them.”
