After a slew disappointing of historical/mythological war films in the like of Troy and Alexander, Ridley Scott goes back to grab a sword and show these other directors how to do a Historic war film – well almost.

Constantine Movie Review
I haven’t read a single Hellblazer comics so I can say I won’t be biased on this review wether it would be faithful to the comicbook hero. But I may be biased with the concept of the movie regarding heaven and hell and the world we live in. I may not share the same opinion with most reviews (believe me a lot think that this is another disappointment comics-to-movies book), but there is something about the movie that I did enjoy.
Alexander: The Gay Counqueror
And I thought Troy was bad already, I couldn’t believe it could get any worse. And it has “Oliver Stone” written all over it! Ok let me go straight to the point: It’s a bad movie.
National Treasure: The new Indiana Jones?
I never knew before I saw this movie that this was a “Walt Disney” flick. Nothing bad about it, but from the start, it has “Family” posted with it. From the same makers who gave you “Pirates of the Carribean”, it’s another movie that involves, treasures, but set in modern times.
The Notebook Movie Review

The Notebook
This is the first Nicholas Sparks movie I’ve seen. I failed to see his earlier works like “Message in a Bottle” and “A Walk to Remember”. Despite its screaming strategy of targeting romance fanatics, teeners and dating couples, The Notebook has so much so offer more than romance entertainment.
I haven’t read the book, but a friend of mine told me that the book was much better (as usual) as it has more romantic elements in it. But basing the movie solely along, it is still a good story which tries to surprise you in the end but failed though. But throughout it is a very romantic tale, though you’ll question wether this is really possible in real life.
The actors here are really great, credits for them as they have somewhat excelled here by bringing the story to life. Without these good actors, this would have been a ho-hum movie.
I really enjoyed the Cinematography here. The director here really took advantage of the backdrop in adding to the feel of the movie. Really amazing and breathtaking.
What I liked about the score and soundtrack here, is it doesn’t hide behind those pop-movie formulas. It has a simple soundtrack, but it works.
All in all, this is a really nice movie. If you are into a relationship this is a perfect date movie. Though it doesn’t really transcend in terms of romance movies, it still has a very nice story, great actors and amazing cinematography to keep you entertained.
Batman Begins
SO many superhero movies have passed some where hits (like spiderman) and some where misses. We had Spiderman, Catwoman, Hellboy, Daredevil and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (did I miss something?). And upcoming are The Punisher and Contsantine (of Hellblazer).
But what I’m looking real forward to is Batman: Begins. Take a look at the trailer and the screenshots. I think they’ll get it right this time around. I never watched the last 2 sequels of the movie as I thought it was one cheap fashion show. Looking forward to this one….
A Different Catwoman
Last night I was able to catch “Catwoman” with a friend/client of mine Elle. I thought it was nice to treat her out since she has been very helpful in giving me projects to fill in my portfolio. And most importantly, getting my paychecks. Hehehe.
First off, this Catwoman is not Selina Kyle of the Batman Universe. So don’t expect to see appearances from Bruce Wayne here. And I don’t know the setting, I think it’s not Gotham City either. So you are introduced to a new character here, Patience Philips, a sensetive artist who works at a Bad Ad Agency.
Well to sum it up. She stumbles to a secret of how a line of beauty product from the company she worked on is causing more ugly side effects to it’s users. She got flushed out and died, while a rare egyptian cat breaths life back into her. Having an epiphany from a catnip. She sought to find out who really killed her and in between have romance with a police officer. She was manipulated by the real killer. But eventually she found the truth.
It was really simple if you look at it. I like some parts of it, like her transformation to being Catwoman and the characterization momments. But there is something in the story that doesn’t have the “Punch” spiderman had as a superhero movie. I kinda like her as being an artist (because I can relate to her. Hehehe) but she’s not as smart as Selina Kyle, as she was easily manipulated.
Now the costume, I can’t deny that Halle Berry is such a babe and has all the right curves, but there is something not right with the costume here. she looked more of a dominatrix ready to give any bad boy a spanking. Kinda liked it if she was more of a Cat-burglar than what she is now.
All in all, Catwoman isn’t really that spectacular and doesn’t raise the bar in superhero movies. But it’s not at all bad either as there are some parts that you may like, and there is still a lot more potential to explore here. So you can either watch it right now or just wait for the Video come out, it would be just fine.
